Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF) to Open Call for Film Submissions for the Festival’s 8th Edition on 29th September 2025
The Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF), one of Africa’s leading international short film festivals, has officially announced the call for film submissions for its 8th edition, opening on 29th September 2025. The festival’s 8th edition is scheduled for 27th – 31st July 2026, and will once again bring together filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences from across the globe to celebrate the power of independent storytelling.
Since its inception in 2019, AiF has grown into a dynamic platform that amplifies the voices of young and emerging filmmakers. Over the years, the festival has showcased thought-provoking short films from diverse cultures and backgrounds, creating opportunities for cross-cultural exchange, industry networking, and professional development.
The 8th edition promises to expand on this vision, spotlighting stories that challenge, disrupt, and reimagine the world through cinema. Filmmakers from all over the world are invited to submit their short films across various categories, including narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, student films, and music videos.
Eight years on, AiF continues to champion bold voices and untold stories. Each edition testifies to the creativity and resilience of emerging filmmakers, and the 8th edition will be no exception.
