Director Biography - William Kojo Agbeti
William Kojo Agbeti was always fascinated by the film industry. After graduating from high school, William attended The School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, where he honed his skills in cinematography and directing.
Over time, William built up a reputation as a skilled cinematographer/director, able to capture the nuances of each scene and create stunning visuals that helped tell the story. He worked on a number of documentaries, tv series and movies, including the hit film "Azali,” on Netflix and also Ghana’s first selected film for the 2018 Oscar Awards.
One of the things that set William apart is his dedication to his craft. He spent countless hours studying lighting techniques, camera angles, and color theory, always striving to find new and innovative ways to tell a story through images.
In 2015, William won the Dada Trust Film Festival in Kenya for Best Cinematography, he also won The Golden Cinematography Award in 2019 at the Golden Movie Awards (Ghana), William was also decorated with three awards at the Ghana Movie Awards in 2018 for Best Cinematography, Best Editor and Best Sound Mix for his work on the film "Azali," a visually stunning masterpiece. The awards were the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to his craft, and it cemented William's status as one of the most talented cinematographers in Africa.
William continues to work in the film industry, always pushing himself to create images that are both beautiful and meaningful. Whether he's working on a big-budget project or an indie film, he approaches each project with the same level of passion and dedication, always striving to tell stories that capture the hearts and minds of audiences around the world.
