Mpho Ramathuthu

Mpho Ramathuthu is a Script writer and Producer from South Africa. She has over fifteen year experience in the film and television industry. She has worked in training institutions such as The Scriptwriting Institute and Script-to-Screen in Indigenous Languages. She continues to provide training in Scriptwriting and motion picture in different cinema workshops. Mpho is the founder and Creative Producer of the “Breaking Borders Project” (African Women in Film Project), a cross border film slate by African women. She has Co-Produced a Zulu Musical Feature Film called “She is King” in 2017 which has been screened in different film festival across the globe. Her recent works also include an award-winning Short Film “Ibala” and Piet’s Sake 2 Feature Film. She is currently producing a South Africa/ Nigeria Co-Production Feature Film called Inhlawulo (Damages). Mpho has been a jury member and participated in a number of International Film Festivals including the “Africa Film Festival New York” (America), “Durban international film Festival (South Africa), Accra Indie Filmfest (Ghana), “International Images Film Festival for Women” (Zimbabwe) and the 2021 Berlin Co-Production Market (virtual Edition).
