AiF FilmArt, is a film incubator program as part of the Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF), an annual international short film festival in Ghana. It is returning with its 4th edition in 2024.

This incubator program is divided into two programming areas:

  1. Screenwriting Workshop
  2. Filmmaking Workshop

This will conclude with a filmmaking Challenge where one screenplay will be selected from the screenwriting workshop and produced by the participating filmmakers.

Filmmaking Workshop FAQ’s

You need to be a filmmaker with not less than 1 year working experience in film/TV. You must be 20 years and above.

It is not only for directors. It is open to cinematographers, editors, producers and boom operators as well.

No, screenwriters cannot apply unless you can also assume the role as a director, cinematographer, a producer, editor or a boom operator.

No, you do not need to be a Ghanaian to apply but you must be residing in Ghana and well vested in telling the Ghanaian story.

The workshop is absolutely free but terms and conditions apply.

It will not be virtual but an in-person workshop

There will be two separate virtual sessions that will be held for the filmmaking teams to interact with the screenwriters.

Yes, a certificate of participation will be given at the end of the workshop.
